Manaslu Circuit Trek | Manaslu circuit trek cost

Manaslu is extremely rich in cultures and biodiversity- this is how one can describe the Manaslu region. Mountain of the spirit, Mt. Manaslu (8163 m) is the eighth-highest mountain in the world; and reaching its base camp is an exciting journey of its own. The Manaslu region is quite untouched; the number of tourists visiting each year is low. This is what makes the Manaslu circuit trek unique and beautiful. With less human interaction, you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature, and talk to the depths of your own soul.
The journey to the Manaslu Circuit trek starts with a bus ride from Kathmandu to Arughat. As the trek begins you will encounter many rivers including Maccha Khola, Soti Khola, Budi Gandaki, Tharo Khola, Deng Khola, Ghatta Khola, etc. High waterfalls can also be spotted from time to time. Throughout the trek, you can relish the spectacular views of Mt. Manaslu, Himal Chuli, Ganesh Himal Range, and other Himalayan ranges. We will also cross the Larkya La Pass (5160m) during the trail. The trail is usually made beautiful by the blooming rhododendron flowers, making the trailing pink, white, and red. You can also drink rhododendron juice, which is believed to have many health benefits. Pine, bamboo, and oak forests are also interesting parts of the journey. The main destination of our trek is Manaslu Base Camp at 5416 m. The day is a rest day at Sama Gaon, so the trek to Base Camp will not be in a rush. The view of Birendra Lake and Mt. Manaslu from the Base Camp is truly magical. At Sama Gaon, you can also visit the Sama Gompa.

Apart from the natural beauty, the social aspect of the trek is equally interesting. The hills are primarily inhabited by the Gurung, whereas near Tibet, Sherpa dominates the place. Nubri and Tsum are the two main ethnicities living in the Manaslu region. So, this trek will also take you through a cultural journey, giving you a taste of the rural life of Nepal. The region is influenced by Buddhism, you can encounter many Gumbas, Chortens, Mani walls, and prayer flags along the trail.so, if you want to be a part of this interesting journey to the foot of the 8th-highest mountain in the world, sign up with Adventure White Mountain.

Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek is a journey to an enchanted and magical valley of the Himalayan region of Nepal. The unique cultures, lifestyles, and mountains of this region make a beautiful amalgam of sustainability. Extremely remote and secluded, this area has very less developmental activities; in turn, preserving the local lifestyle and traditions. In fact, the seclusion of Tsum Valley has given it the title of “Hidden Valley of Happiness.

Situated in the Gorkha District of Nepal, this trail falls in the Manaslu Conservation Area. The area is home to many wild species including Himalayan Thar, Musk Deer, Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Blue Sheep, etc. The trek that starts from Soti Khola takes us through numerous beautiful forests, rivers, and settlements. The rhododendron, oak, and bamboo forests are gradually replaced by the alpine forests as we gain elevation. Maccha Khola, Soti Khola, Budi Gandaki, Tharo Khola, Deng Khola, and Ghatta Khola are some of the rivers that we encounter. The incredible views of Manaslu, the 8th highest mountain in the world, will accompany us throughout the journey. We will also cross the challenging Larkya La Pass situated at 5220 m. This dramatic pass will present us with stunning views of Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Himlung Himal. As the steep ascends and descends make us physically tired, our energy gets boosted by the deep gorges, beautiful waterfalls, and glacial rivers.

The trek to Tsum Valley is an interesting one too. The valley presents stunning views of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Boudha ranges. This Hidden Valley is surrounded by Tibet on three sides, explaining a huge Tibetan Buddhist influence on the culture and traditions. The valley is home to the cave where Milarepa had meditated. Thus, the area is considered to be very scary and pure. The Mani walls and Chortens have been made creatively with prayers and art carved into the stones. There are many Gumbas including Rachen Gumba, Mu Gumba, and Gumba Lungdang; all of them with interesting age-old stories.
